Employers must make sure employees get immediate help if taken ill or injured at work. The law applies to every workplace and to the self-employed.
HSE states you must have:
+ a suitably stocked first aid kit
+ an appointed person or people to take charge of first aid arrangements
+ information for all employees telling them about first aid arrangements
Take a look at our flexible courses (1,2 or 3 day) that can take place at your workplace, at one of the open course local venues or a combination of face-to-face and online learning.
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) ONE DAY OPEN COURSE
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification is ideal for those working in lower hazard environments (e.g. shops, offices), with smaller teams (i.e. less than 50 people), where HSE guidelines specify staff should be EFAW qualified or where they are supporting colleagues who hold a full First Aid at Work qualification. It is nationally recognised and accredited to RQF level 3 (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) / SQF level 5 (Scotland).
First Aid at Work (FAW) Renewal 2 DAY OPEN COURSE
This course is for holders of a current First Aid at Work qualification which is due to expire, or where candidates would like to refresh and update their first aid aid knowledge, and revalidate their qualification for a further three years.
If someone has previously held the First Aid at Work qualification but it has expired, please consider the following rules for attendance.
First Aid at Work (FAW) 3 DAYS OPEN COURSE
The First Aid at Work (FAW) is the highest and most widely recognised first aid qualification. It is suitable for workplaces where risk assessments identify the need for highly trained first aiders due to the size of the organisation or workplace, nature of the business or the groups of individuals considered.
The comprehensive and in-depth course will be delivered in a friendly and relaxed way, and will enable learners to respond to an extensive range of first aid incidents and emergencies. It will also provide fundamental details on the legalities of first aid and the responsibilities of employers.
